MKT and ECO2GROW: Partnership for green electricity from a German wind farm

Since January 2025, we have been purchasing green electricity directly from a German wind farm. To this end, we have concluded a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with ECO2GROW, an innovative provider in the field of renewable energies, which enables us to purchase wind power directly. This enables us to purchase around 3,000 MWh per year from guaranteed sustainable generation, thereby reducing our CO2 emissions by around 2,100 tonnes per year.

‘With the partnership with ECO2GROW and the purchase of wind energy, we are sending a strong signal in favour of a climate-neutral future for our industry,’ explains Sven Kirchner, Commercial Director of MKT. ‘This step strengthens our commitment to environmentally friendly production, significantly reduces our CO2 emissions and actively contributes to achieving international climate targets. In addition, this step helps us to reduce electricity costs in the long term and to secure our competitiveness in a drastically changing market environment through sustainable innovation and responsible use of resources’.

Paul Appel, CEO of ECO2GROW, adds: “The cooperation with MKT impressively demonstrates how medium-sized companies can make their energy supply more sustainable in the long term. Wind energy is a key technology for driving forward the energy transition and at the same time enables companies to increase their added value.

The partnership marks the beginning of a close collaboration in which we want to actively use the opportunities presented by the changing electricity markets to support decarbonization.
