For sealing edgebands in fully automatic production lines we have developed our STOPGAP STARTER KIT. This complete system consists of our highly effective hydrophobing agent and a mature hardware.
We have perfectly optimized the system under production conditions and have already defined the presets for quick and simple commissioning.

Installation in your edge banding machine
For use in fully automated production and edge-banding lines, the STOPGAP STARTER KIT is installed as the final unit on the machine. Thanks to the spray system, the water-repellent agent can be applied to the desired adhesive joint through precision fine nozzles. The treated parts can then be processed immediately and are protected against the penetration of dirt, water and steam over the long term.
Settings for a feed of approx. 18-20m/min
- Installation position: last unit in the system
- Installation angle: upper nozzle 90° to the workpiece, lower nozzle 20° to the workpiece (to avoid possible dripping onto the spraying gun)
- Distance: approx. 4-5mm (between the workpiece and the material nozzle)
- Material nozzle: 0.2mm (pre-installed in the spray gun)
- Material pressure: approx. 0.5 bars
- Air nozzle: 0.3mm (pre-installed in the spray gun)
- Control air: 5-6 bars
- Recommended application width: approx. 4mm (overlapping from the surface into the edge radius)
- Needed connections: compressed air (usually available in the machine), 24 V DC (usually a free contact in the system control)

Our STOPGAP STARTER KIT contains the following components:
- 2x 0.9 Liters STOPGAP FLUID
- 2x spray gun Micro 3
- 2x 3/2-way valve, 24 V DC
- 1x material pressure feeding container made of stainless steel, 2 liters, max. 2.5 bars incl. pressure control unit for control air and fine pressure regulator for spraying air
- 3m air hose, max. 10 bars
- 6m material hose
- 2x retaining bolts, manifold and fast coupling pieces
