For the production of thermoplastic edge banding we only use high quality and certified plastics. These are tested regulary according to strict guidelines. For conventional processing in hot-melt technology we are offering ALPHA-TAPE® in ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) and PP (polypropylene) material. Additionally special product solutions are available for exceptional applications such as Softforming (ALPHA-TAPE® FLEXIBLE), zero-joint technology (ALPHA-TAPE ZERO®) or lightweight honeycomb panels (ALPHA-TAPE ZERO® HONEYCOMB).
ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) is a copolymeric, thermoplastic material that has already been used in the furniture industry for over 50 years. The specific combination of individual monomers results in a particularly impact-resistant, mechanically and thermally highly resilient plastic. At the same time, ABS impresses with its very good printability, varnish and polishability and is therefore ideal for the production and further processing of edge banding.
(Polypropylene)
PP (polypropylene) is a semi-crystalline, thermoplastic material that is currently the fastest growing in the world. In addition to the primary use for films and packaging materials, PP is also becoming increasingly important in the field of furniture and edge banding production. The industry benefits from the material’s high level of environmental sustainability and recyclability as well as many other positive material and processing characteristics: PP is low in stress whitening, has a low specific weight, is flame retardant and is very resistant to UV light and chemicals.
