Zur Herstellung von Alpha-Tape® setzt MKT nur qualitativ hochwertige und speziell geprüfte Kunststoffe ein, die den hohen Qualitätsvorgaben unserer Kunden genügen. In erster Linie ist dies ABS, das den größten Teil der Produktion ausmacht. Daneben findet verstärkt PP Anwendung, wohingegen PVC rückläufig ist. Für unser Spezial-Produkt Alpha-Tape® soft findet noch TPU, ein elastisches und abnutzungsbeständiges Polyurethan, als dämpfende Komponente Einsatz. Unsere modernen Extrusions- und Fertigungsanlagen gewährleisten die optimale Weiterverarbeitung, so dass Alpha-Tape® auf allen bei der Möbelherstellung eingesetzten Kanten-Anleimmaschinen verarbeitet und gefräst werden kann. Das Design bleibt von der Materialwahl unbeeinflusst. Hier orientieren wir uns an den Trends der internationalen Möbelmärkte ebenso wie an den besonderen Wünschen unserer Kunden. Alpha-Tape® wird immer perfekt auf jede Kunden-Vorlage abgestimmt. Egal in welchem Material.

In manufacturing Alpha-Tape® MKT uses only especially approved quality plastics as raw material, which meet our customers’ high quality requirements. ABS represents the largest share in our production. Also, PP is increasingly used, whereas PVC is losing importance. TPU – a flexible and abrasion-resistant form of polyurethane – is the shock-absorbing component in our special product Alpha-Tape® soft. Our modern extrusion and production lines guarantee ideal further processing and shaping of Alpha-Tape® on all edge banding machines used for furniture production. The design will remain unaffected by the choice of material. In choosing the appropriate material we are following the trends of international furniture markets and also take up our customers’ desires. Alpha-Tape® is always perfectly matched to any customers’ sample piece – whatever material is being used.

ABS | Acrylnitril-Butadien-Styrol
ABS ist ein thermoplastischer, copolymerer Kunststoff mit sehr ausgewogenen Eigenschaften. Es erhält Härte und Steifigkeit durch das Acrylnitril und Schlagfestigkeit durch das Polybutadien. Der Styrol-Bestandteil sorgt für gute Verarbeitungseigenschaften, insbesondere für ein gutes Fließverhalten bei der Herstellung. Diese drei Monomere sind für Alpha-Tape® ABS so eingestellt, dass sie optimale Eigenschaften für den Einsatz als Kantenmaterial ergeben.
Eigenschaften: Starr, glänzend, robust, gute Maßhaltigkeit, gute Kratzfestigkeit, leicht zu Galvanisieren

PP | Polypropylen
PP ist ein Thermoplast, das seit Mitte der 90er Jahre verstärkt auch in der Möbelindustrie, besonders bei Küchenmöbeln, eingesetzt wird. PP ist dort in Form von Schüsseln und Frischhaltedosen, wegen seiner guten Alltagseigenschaften schon sehr viel länger in Gebrauch. Alpha-Tape® PP wird mit einem speziellen Haftvermittler (Primer) versehen ausgeliefert, bedarf aber dennoch einer optimalen Maschineneinstellung bei der Weiterverarbeitung.
Eigenschaften: Halbstarr, hervorragende Chemikalienbeständigkeit, hohe Wärmebeständigkeit, robust, wiederverwertbar

PVC | Polyvinylchlorid
PVC ist ebenfalls ein Thermoplast. Es gehört seit den 1950er Jahren zu den am meisten verbreiteten und damit zu den bekanntesten Kunststoffen überhaupt. Unvermischt ist PVC ein starres Material, das durch Plastifikationsmittel nahezu beliebig weich gemacht werden kann. PVC ist chlorhaltig und daher in der Nachfrage, besonders auf dem Europäischen Markt, stark rückläufig. Es wird zunehmend durch ABS abgelöst.
Eigenschaften: starr bis flexibel, gute Wetterbeständigkeit, gute Schlagfestigkeit

TPU | Thermoplastisches Polyurethan
Thermoplastische Elastomere haben die Griffigkeit von Gummi und die Fähigkeiten thermoplastischer Kunststoffe. Es ist unter fast allen Bedingungen belastbar und flexibel zugleich. Es hat also die ideale Charakteristik für Alpha-Tape® soft, der Kante mit Dämpfungsprofil.
Eigenschaften: Flexibel, elastisch, gute Chemikalienbeständigkeit, überragende Ermüdungsbeständigkeit, gute Druckverteilung, dämpfend, wiederverwertbar

ABS | Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene
ABS is a  very stable copolymer thermoplastic. Rigidness and stiffness are reached by the acrylonitrile, whereas polybutadiene makes it impact-resistant. The styrene component improves the processing properties, and, especially the fluidity during manufacturing. These three monomers are being combined in a way to Alpha-Tape® to have perfect properties for their use as an edge banding material.
Properties: stiff, shiny, robust, good dimensional stability, good scratch-resistance, can be easily galvanised

PP | Polypropylene
PP is a thermoplastic that has been increasingly used also in the furniture industry from the mid90’s, especially with kitchen furniture. PP has already been in use there for much longer, e.g. with bowls and air-tight containers known for their favourable properties in every day use. Alpha-Tape® PP is delivered  with a special primer; however, optimised machine settings are also required for further processing.
Properties: semi-stiff, excellent chemical resistance, good heat resistance, robust, recyclable

PVC | Polyvinyl chloride
PVC is also a thermoplastic. From the 1950’s onwards it has been one of the most-widely used and best-known plastics of all. In its pure form PVC is a rigid material, but plastifying agents can make it almost as soft as required. PVC contains chlorine, which explains its tremendous decrease in demand, especially in the European market. Nowadays, it is being increasingly replaced by ABS.
Properties: stiff to flexible, good weather resistance, good impact-resistance

TPU | Thermoplastic Polyurethane
Thermoplastic elastomers have the perceptiveness of rubber and properties of thermoplastics as well. Under almost all conditions it remains both, flexible and resilient, and has therefore the ideal properties for Alpha-Tape® soft – the shock-absorbing edging tape.
Properties: flexible, elastic, good chemical resistance, outstanding durability, good pressure distribution, shock-absorbent, recyclable
